MIGRATION REPORT OF THE WEEK
July 29, 2013
REMEMBER to be sure and like us on Facebook @ Midwest Migrators for daily migration reports for the upcoming season and videos of the week throughout the season. We had a great hatch up and down the river in eastern Nebraska this year on geese. We really need some rain bad to fill up some ponds and creeks that have been low since last year. The Nebraska Game Parks released their proposed season dates for our 2013-14 fall season this year and their looking to increase our teal limit to 6 teal during the month of September and a chance at extending our Dark Goose season a week longer and increasing our Daily bag limit to 5 per person. But i guess will know more in a few weeks. We will be adding another Dark goose spread for our Late Season Honker hunts during the Month of January this year, so be sure to contact us and get in on one of these incredible hunts with one of our fastest hunts in January last season a 8 man Limit of Big geese in 40 minutes. Hope every ones summer is going good.

Happy New Year Everyone
Well our duck season came to an end today. All in all it has been a great season, with some really good pushes from the north and alot of birds sticking around the area for the season. We had good shooting pretty much throughout the whole season, but some weeks we just had to work alot harder and put more miles on scouting. As for a report our areas are still holding big concentration of geese and expect hunting to stay strong for the remainder weeks of season. Also we still have prime dates open for our Spring Snow Goose season, so get hold of me and will get a hunt set up for you.

This past week of hunting was pretty consistent. With cooler temps starting off last week making for more enjoyable goose hunting. This weekend brought in a flurry of snow and rain. We are still seeing high numbers of mallards and geese. Most of the big waters are back to half open making for more areas for the birds to roost on, the river still has some ice on it but has mostly cleaned out. As for migration it seems we are always to gaining more and more geese and expect the hunting from ducks to stay decent for the next few weeks of season thats left and expect the goose hunting to only keep getting better!!

This week in centeral Nebraska there continues to be a slow trickle of puddle ducks (including mallards, widgeon and gadwalls) as well as some bigger flocks of lesser Canada geese into the area. With the continued warm temps from last weekend, the hunting has been moderate this week. Although the hunters have not been taking limits of birds every day, the afternoon hunts have been productive in the fields on geese. This weekend there is an expected cold front moving through the region from the north which should push some new birds down into the area and the hunting in Nebraska should pick up dramatically.
